Lake View from Kiawah Island/Andell Inn |
In the South Carolina Low-country lies the relaxing and beautiful, Kiawah
Island. Nestled closely between Seabrook Island and John's Island this
secluded location is a great retreat for anyone to rest and recharge.
The island has just the right amount of amenities that one would need
without the traffic one may not want to endure. However, this island is positioned roughly 30 minutes from Charleston if you wanted to venture to a more populated area. What can you do while you are here? Check out this listing below.
This luxury hotel is exquisite. From the outdoor landscaping, porch bar and saltwater pool with lakeside views, relaxing rocking chairs and relaxing lounge swings not one detail was missed in the design of this hotel. The inside is exquisite from ceiling to floor with elegant fixtures, walls adorned with gorgeous art work and fine modern decor. You can easily spend your time here enjoying nice meals and/or drinks with natural views, lounging by the pool, exercising at the gym, taking a nap or reading a book curled up outside in luxury seating.

Kiawah Beachwalker Park is a great location for bike riding, walking trails, picnics overlooking beach inlets and spending a day at the beach. My family and I enjoyed how secluded the area felt in the middle of summer. There was life guard coverage on a great portion of the stretch and an expansive area of shore line that people were able to space out and feel like you were in your own paradise. Swimming, crab hunting, fishing, and laying around enjoying the beauty of this island are just a few of the things you could do while spending time here.

2. Stop by The Village Market by Harris Teeter to collect items from the deli/bakery for a nice picnic at a local park.
3. Go for a bike ride.
There are numerous trails to get out and explore the natural environment and wildlife of the area. If you don't bring gear and or have no room to do so, no worries. There are several rental companies to choose from. In fact, most of these companies will come to your hotel and drop off your gear. You just pay and go. In addition, if you have little's that may not be ready to ride their own bike there are options to get bikes with infant and child carriers attached. We rented from
SeaCoast Sports and Outfitters. Not only did we rent bikes here, they had almost any outdoor gear one would be interested in making use of while on the island.

5. Have a relaxing dinner.
One of our favorite places that we dined on this trip was
Cantina 76, a Mexican fusion restaurant. Here you can enjoy a DELICIOUS meal while having a lake side view. No, lie. This restaurant has the best traditional tacos, and queso I have ever had in my life. Our second favorite was the
La Tela Pizzeria for an authentic Italian cuisine. The pasta, garlic cheese bread and any of the pizza selections will not disappoint.
